Berghia Nudibranch
🪸 Berghia Nudibranchs (Berghia stephanieae) – natural Aiptasia control
Our Berghia nudibranchs are bred entirely in Germany and shipped directly from our facility. Thanks to controlled breeding conditions, we can offer you animals with excellent size, vitality, and quality – at a fair price-performance ratio.
After just about two months, our Berghia reach a size of approximately *2.5 cm.
🌿 100% reef-safe & specialized
Berghia are completely reef-safe and feed exclusively on Aiptasia, one of the most common and persistent pest anemones in saltwater aquariums. Other organisms are not eaten, making them ideal for targeted control.
🧪 Clean, safe breeding conditions
Our animals grow up in modern, clean systems without fish or other invertebrates. This reduces the risk of introducing unwanted algae, pathogens, or parasites to a minimum.
🌙 Behavior
Berghia are predominantly nocturnal and prefer to retreat during the day. Only when hungry do they leave their hiding spots, and they can then also be observed foraging during the day.
🪱 Stocking recommendation
In the past, the rule was: 1 Berghia per 50 l of aquarium volume – to prevent them from running out of food too quickly.
Thanks to our new offering, however, you can now also purchase Aiptasia directly from us. This allows your Berghia to be provided for in the long term without needing to be moved as soon as the aquarium is free of glass anemones.
✅ Recommended stocking density for heavy infestation: up to 5 Berghia per 10 l.
This enables faster and more effective control of the infestation and makes our larger packages very economical.

⚠️ Important notes
-
Avoid predatory fish: Many wrasses eat Berghia. Although the nudibranchs store the stinging cells of the Aiptasia in their cerata, this provides no reliable protection in the aquarium – especially not in daylight or when they are foraging.
